5/30/2023 0 Comments Red Widow by Isabelle G. Snow![]() ![]() ![]() I also have a list of reviews with spoilers here. If you’ve read any of these books, click the image to join the spoiler discussion! If you have anything to add to any of these summaries, I’d love to see your comments. I still think they’re useful, though, so that’s why we’re here: I’ve created this landing page for all of my ten-second spoilers! I won’t ever have the time to go back and write full-length summaries or reviews for these books. Bookstagram became my main priority, but I still love posting spoilers here.įor some of these books I read pre-blog, all I have are two-sentence summaries to jog my own memory. I made a Bookstagram to promote my blog, but quickly fell in love with that community. To me, there seemed to be enough of a gap that I could start my own blog of spoilers to help people like me! I found a couple of sites that spoil the endings (shouting out my new friend Jen Ryland here!), but couldn’t find everything I was looking for. ![]() When I didn’t write down the ending right away, I would try googling it to add it to my list. Often the synopsis alone isn’t enough to jog my memory! I especially needed these spoilers for books in a series, when it had been a while since I read the previous novel. I started jotting down endings because I found myself re-reading books I had already read, knowing I’d read it before but unable to recall the ending. Before I started blogging and Bookstagram, I was writing down the endings to books in my bullet journal as I finished them. ![]()

![]() ![]() It led to a lot of new business for the agency. As a standard text in business schools, it formed the view of thousands of students and lured some to advertising careers. As the only advertising book most people outside the business have ever read, it molded public perception of what the business was actually like. ![]() “Confessions” was an instant success and went on to become the best-selling advertising book of all time, selling several million copies and translated all over the world. He saw the book as a new-business pitch for his agency, but allowed it was also to prepare the agency for going public and, in complete candor, “to make myself better known in the advertising world.” His method: to set down everything he had learned about advertising - “a textbook, sugar-coated with anecdotes.” He guessed it might sell 4,000 copies and assigned the royalties to his son for his 21st birthday - a decision he always regretted. In that brief period, he had created “The Man in the Hathaway Shirt,” Commander Whitehead for Schweppes, Rolls-Royce’s “the loudest noise is … the electric clock,” and Dove’s “one-quarter cleansing cream,” among other iconic campaigns. David Ogilvy had been in the advertising business only 15 years when he wrote “ Confessions of an Advertising Man” in 1962. ![]() 5/30/2023 0 Comments Books like wicked fox![]() ![]() ![]() “This book is a delight from start to finish. ![]() “ A romantic and unique read bursting with lush atmosphere.”- BuzzFeed an utterly original take on the young-adult fantasy.”- Entertainment Weekly forcing Miyoung to choose between her immortal life and Jihoon's.Īn Entertainment Weekly Summer Best Book Pick But when a young shaman tries to reunite Miyoung with her bead, the consequences are disastrous and reignite a generations-old feud. Except it isn't exactly the life she expected. Although Lady Helen is unsure she wants to get married quite so soon, she is eager for her adult life to begin. Once presented, Lady Helen will fill her days with social gatherings, promenades and evening parties - all in the quest of a husband, and all while adhering to the strict social codes that her station demands. Lady Helen Wrexhall is a day away from being presented to the queen, the event that will formally welcome her into society, announcing her as an adult and eligible for marriage. ![]() I also love how the time period played against all of the supernatural elements in the story. I love historical fantasy, and one of my favorite aspects of The Dark Days Club is that it seeks to be very present in 1812 Regency London. From Helen's dress to the social customs of the Regency period, to even encountering some real historical characters, it is clear that the author did her research. ![]() 5/30/2023 0 Comments Landing by Emma Donoghue![]() ![]() LANDING is an allusive, sparkling, dialogue-based story about some of the biggest questions: Which things about you make you you? The bad news is, in my panic to get the file uploaded before the deadline, I somehow (see above: two kinds of prescription pain medications were in play) grabbed the wrong damned file. Well, I did finally manage to finish the book and it released yesterday.
